Working with horses can often feel like a religious experience as we feel the magic of connection with such a powerful animal. Often horse training is steeped in tradition, sometimes without explanation of why we are taking a particular course of action, as we have just 'Done it this way' for so many years.
I have always wanted to know the why. Why do we do it this way? How is it helping? How does it work? And so on.
What I am hoping to share with you in this book is some of the most important elements of how our horses 'work' -- how they think, how they learn, how they move. The elements that make them unique, and most importantly, what that means in terms of how we are interacting with them. How who a horse is at his very core impacts the way he responds to me.
Enlightenment. I couldn't think of a more appropriate word to describe the journey I have been on and continue to travel with horses. They continue to enlighten me as I learn more and share what I have learned about these incredible beings.
